Painful intercourse

Don’t let painful intercourse dampen your relationship or self-esteem. Painful intercourse, or dyspareunia, has led to unhappy couples, sexual dissatisfaction, and has ruined marriages.

Pain during intercourse can be due to low hormones, structural problems, diseases, infections, or psychological concerns.  The first step is to seek the help of an expert.  It is imperative to be evaluated for the correct diagnosis and solution.  During evaluation, I will take a very detailed history, perform an exam, possibly do testing or cultures, and we will make a plan for management or further evaluation if needed.  Hormones are often the answer but not always; sometimes a procedure or other medication is needed, and sometimes a combination or series of methods are used.

It is also important to start evaluation as soon as possible.   When the problem gets worse over time, it may not be possible to restore it completely as when it is found early and treated.

If you are experiencing pain during intercourse, call now for evaluation and management.  My expertise includes numerous types of hormonal as well as non-hormonal treatments.
